Cigna Strategic Sourcing Sr. Specialist in Bloomfield, Connecticut



  • Directly or indirectly (through business and matrix partners) manage key supplier relationships in assigned portfolio using Cigna's Supply Chain Management best practices
  • Establish and maintain a partnering culture with Cigna team members to insure value is derived equitably to drive innovation and productivity with Suppliers
  • Contribute to thought leadership and consultative guidance in the context of best practices to business and matrix partners regarding management of Supplier activity
  • Assist with the constructive handling or resolution of conflict both internally and externally with Suppliers, business and matrix partners
  • Work with Suppliers to ensure adherence to terms & conditions of agreements
  • Monitor overall performance of assigned Suppliers against agreed upon service level agreements and/or other measurement criteria
  • Understand, compile, manage, and communicate required information for Supplier performance reviews on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis including reports and scorecards necessary to gauge Supplier performance
  • Conduct or oversee reconciliation of invoices to adhere with contract terms
  • Coordinate and participate in recurring governance sessions with business/matrix partners and/or Suppliers – weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly
  • Work with Strategic Sourcing counterparts and business/matrix partners to define and execute negotiation strategies with Suppliers
  • Function as the subject matter expert related to contract terms, conditions, and financials for key suppliers in assigned portfolio

Strong computer literacy including:

  1. Ability to use internet or web-based technology tools or applications
  2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Purchasing/Sourcing experience a plus
  • Pharmacy Experience a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred
  • Experience interacting with and managing suppliers and clients/customers strongly preferred
  • Experience with interacting with teams including working with matrix partners
  • 2 years of Finance, Audit, Procurement, or Sales/Service related experience strongly preferred
