Our Pastry Assistant provides freshly-made, eye-catching, and delicious and creative desserts. They are highly skilled in the baking process and can successfully create pastries, breads, and makes layer cakes and pies by hand. Our Pastry Assistant ensures that the kitchen remains clean, safe, and organized. In addition, he or she may perform administrative duties, such as preparing budgets and ordering pastry-making supplies, and serve as a mentor to supervise apprentices and teach coursework relevant to the trade.
The ideal candidate for this position has had at least three years of baking experience, and knowledge of food safety and handling requirements. This candidate will have passion for baking and experience working with seasonal items. Assisting the Pastry Chef in testing phase of desserts to match the seasonal menu items. Formal culinary training is highly desired. Current ServSafe certification preferred but will be required within 6 months of starting. Strong communication skills, good time management skills and professional attitude are all required for this position.
