Director, Internal Communications
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Help shape and deliver a clear narrative on the Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics (EBIA) Brand, Vision and strategic initiatives using a variety of channels.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business strategies and build them into enterprise communication approaches and materials.
Ensure that strategic business key messages are integrated into internal communications.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of business strategies and build them into communications approaches and materials.
Utilize a deep level of communications expertise to ensure successful implementation of internal communications aligned with business objectives.
Direct delivery of communications across internal audiences, partnering with content and channel owners to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach.
Think creatively, take smart risks and address tough issues as they arise.
Develop and maintain close, productive relationships with teams across EBIA, Communications, Legal and the Line of Businesses to ensure alignment and compliance.
Coach leaders, plan and execute regular all-hands meetings and other employee meetings, and create innovative ways to communicate that information and motivate employees.
Counsel and support leadership on communications approach and employee engagement.
Demonstrate ability to influence and drive change with key stakeholders.
Ensure that enterprise approval processes, templates, and brand guidelines are followed in the development of internal communications materials.
Share business and communications subject matter expertise with other team members; mentors/trains others on the development of communications and communications strategies.
Measure effectiveness of assigned internal communications through qualitative and quantitative methods.
Other duties as assigned.

Identifies internal communications opportunities in partnership with the businesses; leads development of strategies and plans and oversees execution. Partners directly with business, function, and initiative leaders to implement internal communications that enhance and support enterprise business objectives and reinforce Travelers culture and character. This job does not manage others but through expertise and influence provides guidance across organizational boundaries and levels of responsibility. The role will also engage with the Operations and Technology Communication organization to cultivate a strong Communications Community and to leverage these diverse skills and experiences in the delivery of differentiated communications.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Typically 6-8 years of experience in communications or a related field. General knowledge of appropriate methods and techniques for communicating with multiple audiences. Thorough understanding of business strategies.

Bachelor's degree in in English, journalism, communications or minimum of 6 years of related communications experience.
