Raytheon’s Electrical Design Directorate (EDD) provides engineering design, integration, test and production to core radar, sonar, torpedo and combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, torpedo and sonar electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave subassemblies. EDD Test Engineering provides technical expertise to numerous manufacturing and development programs within the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business. This second shift position can be a Salary Grade G07 (Test Engineer II) or G08 (Sr Test Engineer I) based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Test Engineer II / Sr. Test Engineer I Job Description: EDD Test Engineering is involved in the product realization of electrical hardware for defense, commercial, industrial, domestic and foreign purposes. An opportunity exists for an engineer to join our Test Engineering Support team which is responsible for manufacturing test support at our Portsmouth facility. This position requires close cooperation with the Operations team and other engineering disciplines including Product Design, Test Development and Process & Quality Engineering. The individual will be part of the team responsible for the efficiency, effectiveness, capability and capacity of the production test process. This includes supporting test and troubleshooting of Sonar, sonar arrays, transducer and acoustic equipment, reviewing/analyzing data to determine the cause of a fault, generating/updating test procedures, and interaction with design engineering on technical issues relating to the test process. Additional responsibilities include giving technical direction to bargaining unit personnel as required. The candidate will possess good communication skills and be able to work in a dynamic team environment. Some travel may be required. Position includes the following tasks: Interpreting test requirements and developing test procedures Initiating and/or coordinating Engineering Change Requests and Change Notices to improve factory flow and product quality Collecting, analyzing and presenting test failure data – driving to root cause and corrective action Ensuring hardware requirements are met and processes are followed Assisting manufacturing operators in the test & troubleshoot of production hardware This US based Raytheon position requires that an individual obtain a SECRET security clearance. To be eligible for a security clearance you must be a US citizen. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Minimum of 2 years test engineering related experience Sonar, transducer and acoustic test / troubleshooting skills This position requires a SECRET clearance or an Interim SECRET clearance prior to start Desired Qualifications Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Sound understanding of statistical test techniques Demonstrated success working in a fast paced manufacturing environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Keywords: clearance, test engineering, electrical engineering, sonar, acoustic test 111422
