Michael Baker International has a strong nationwide practice that works closely with numerous State Departments of Transportation as well as regional and local transportation agencies. The successful candidate will play a key role in exciting planning and public transportation projects. He/She will work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team of professionals that focus on making a difference and delivering value. * Provide transit planning expertise for fixed bus route analysis and planning. * Provide commuter rail planning expertise * Provide operational knowledge of demand response transportation (ADA Complementary Paratransit & Other) * Conduct analytical research on transportation policy and public transportation * programs and issues. * Regularly interact with key clients for both project specific and general industry issues. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field * 5 years of direct or related transit planning experience. * Master’s Degree in Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field experience preferred. * AICP certification a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Possess a strong interest and working knowledge of all transportation modes, especially public transportation. * Have a strong work ethic and ability to think critically and creatively to solve the complex challenges our clients face every day.
