Role Value Proposition:
The Property and Casualty Research Team, a unit in the Countrywide Product Management Organization, is seeking to fill our Research Data Analyst position to process and analyze internal and external data to support the research and analysis of impacts on property and casualty insurance claims and losses. Additionally, this individual will continuously search for new ideas, tools and methods to apply to their work, and seek opportunities to share their knowledge with others.
Assist in the creation and delivery of the data assets required to implement new programs and initiatives.
Maintain various data assets to keep existing programs and initiatives up to date.
Process large datasets – both geospatial and tabular and manipulate data across multiple formats and applications.
Automate and document data processes to assist with repeatability.
Consult with other departments to assist them in their research and analysis projects.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Bachelor degree with qualitative analysis training (statistics, mathematics, business analytics, actuarial science, or computer science).
1+ years of experience with programming languages, such as R, Python, VBA, SQL.
Proficiency with data analysis and query tools such as SPSS modeler, SAS, R Studio.
Ability to analyze and develop solutions for various initiatives, prioritizing multiple projects to be completed in a timely manner.
Experience with Big data, including Hadoop, Hive, AWS, S3, Azure.
Experience in property & casualty insurance industry.
Experience with data mining, model building or model implementation.
Experience with software, such as SPSS Modeler, SAS, RStudio, or Emblem.
Experience with programming, such as Python, VBA, or SQL.
